The addition of the secure PACStore Web Access module provides convenient
centralized access to DICOM images regardless of their source.
PACStore features two interfaces to meet the needs of different organizations.
- The File Interface can locate any DICOM content (not limited to .dcm files) on the primary storage
system. Based on the organization’s policies, PACStore identifies the type of file as well as its ‘value’ and
determines whether it can be moved, copied or archived and/or deleted from primary storage.
- The DICOM Storage Interface, which incorporates a fully featured DICOM storage class server
(SCP and SCU), works alongside the File Interface and allows for a more centralized archiving infrastructure for the future.
The DICOM server is PACS vendor-independent so that any PACS System that supports DICOM deep archiving can send and
request content from the PACStore DICOM Server. Therefore, regardless of the PACS tool currently in place – or
acquired in the future – PACS data is held safely, centrally and cost-effectively.
