Overview of Position

The Professional Services Engineer/Data Extraction Specialist provides the remote and on-site hands-on technical expertise required to successfully implement a BridgeHead solution within a healthcare environment.

As a specialist in the data extraction process, the Professional Services Engineer/Data Extraction Specialist will provide technical guidance and leadership to customers and partners with the data extraction process. He/she will also work with internal BridgeHead resources to create interfaces and APIs to improve existing extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

Applicants should have sufficient work experience with healthcare data, strong data warehouse skills with a thorough knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. The Professional Services Engineer/Data Extraction Specialist is expected to be an effective communicator and should be capable of engaging end-users and partner staff at all levels. He/she is responsible for product deployments, training on our product suite, providing value-added services and consultative advice, as well as designing solutions for our clients.

Applicants should have sufficient work experience and training to deeply understand and analyze the current technical environment and to explain how BridgeHead technology can be optimally used and deployed to benefit the customer. The position requires a strong sense of independence, high energy levels, and self-motivation.

Responsibilities and Competencies

 

Technical Effort Management / Solution Delivery

  • Ability to build application-specific extraction routines.
  • Ability to analyze healthcare data and consolidate data across different healthcare applications.
  • Ability to assess diverse data storage solutions for extraction, documentation, and implementation.
  • Build tooling and automation that improve the efficiency, quality, and resiliency of our data migration process.
  • Work with various teams within BridgeHead, to make recommendations, assist in the design, and develop improvements to the data migration process.
  • Translate and map data from both live and legacy healthcare platforms.
  • Assist with the qualification, scoping, and sales process for HealthStore service offerings and assist with SOW and design specification creation to support such engagements.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and stay current on new BridgeHead products.
  • Recognizes project risks, roadblocks, and deficiencies and address them before they impact the project’s timelines, goals, and budget.
  • Maintain strong up-to-date knowledge of BridgeHead Software solutions, competitive technical strategies, implementation “best practices”, and how BridgeHead’s solutions can best be deployed to meet customers’ business needs and address current business challenges.
  • Implement and support complex, multi-faceted solutions in real-time customer healthcare environments as part of a multi-vendor project.
  • Successfully deliver both onsite and remote implementations of BridgeHead solutions within the required time frames allotted for the engagement.
  • Update existing documents, create new documents as needed, and ensure all are available to Professional Services staff.
  • Document the detail and status of completed installations to effectively communicate the implemented environment to QA and Support groups.
  • Ability to work “off-hours” during projects as needed to minimize the impact on hospital staff.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 10+ years of related software implementation/consulting experience. Data management and extractions experience within a HealthCare IT infrastructure are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience working with healthcare accounts and specifically acute care hospitals desired.
  • XDS and patient data registry experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with tools and software programs, such as SQL databases, database querying languages, spreadsheets, such as Excel, and programming languages like PowerShell and JavaScript.
  • Solid working knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, etc), client/server technology, MEDITECH, and other medical HIS and provider practice management systems.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis, and working with very large data sets is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze, explain, and draw logical conclusions based on complex data from multiple content areas.
  • Must be able to articulate ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with completing complex integration projects with other software platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience working with healthcare accounts and specifically acute care hospitals.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to address multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
