In his first speech, the new secretary of state for Health, Matt Hancock, has indicated that a further £75 million will be available for Trusts in order to help them put in place state-of-the-art electronic systems – allowing them to save money, crucially giving clinicians more time to spend with patients, and reducing medication errors from old paper systems.
