LEATHERHEAD, UK – 25 May 2023 – BridgeHead Software, a leader in healthcare data management, has been awarded the Cyber Essentials Plus certification in recognition of its high cyber security standards.

Organisations that are certified for Cyber Essentials Plus undergo a technical audit of their systems to verify the requisite Cyber Essentials controls are in place. BridgeHead has successfully met all certification criteria as stated by the IASME (The Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises) Consortium, the independent certifying body that delivers the Government’s National Cyber Security Centre’s Cyber Essentials scheme.

At a time when the healthcare sector faces immense security challenges, cyberattacks can quickly jeopardise operations within the NHS and cause catastrophic disruption to services. It is therefore vital to keep systems secure, protect sensitive patient and clinical information, and respond quickly in the event of an attack. BridgeHead’s clinical data repository, HealthStore®; and RAPid™ Data Protection solutions demonstrate high cybersecurity standards and ensure its customer’s data is safeguarded and recoverable should they fall foul of a cyberattack, such as malware or ransomware.

This latest accreditation builds on BridgeHead’s existing credentials, which has seen it previously awarded the Cyber Essentials certification, providing healthcare organisations with the assurance that BridgeHead has advanced security measures in place. In addition, BridgeHead complies with DCB0129 for clinical risk management as well as achieving accreditation for ISO 27001 (the international standard establishing, implementing, and managing an information security management system) and ISO 9001 (the world’s most recognised quality management system standard).

Crispin Jewitt, Vice President Development, said, “Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification is testament to our people, our company wide specialist expertise, and our commitment to first-class cyber security practices. Healthcare organisations now have the additional peace of mind and assurance that BridgeHead takes cyber security extremely seriously by complying with the stringent and comprehensive standards required to serve the healthcare industry.”

Jim Beagle, President and CEO at BridgeHead Software said, “Cyber Essentials Plus certification is the gold standard. It demonstrates to NHS organisations that our solutions are trustworthy and secure; and we are thrilled to receive this formal accreditation that recognises our strong pedigree in cyber security. We remain committed to helping protect the NHS and private healthcare organisations against sophisticated and ever evolving security threats. BridgeHead will continue to develop innovative solutions to safeguard healthcare data and reinforce the cyber resilience of healthcare organisations, globally.”
