WOBURN, MA – September 18, 2012 – BridgeHead Software today announced that Community Medical Center (CMC), a critical access hospital in Falls City, Nebraska, has selected BridgeHead’s Healthcare Data Management (HDM) Solution as its backup and archiving environment. The BridgeHead implementation will be part of a five-year IT strategy to organize the hospital’s electronic medical record data into a secure, scalable, cost-effective data management framework that will ensure both data protection and regulatory compliance.
Community Medical Center IT Director Brian Evans chose BridgeHead’s HDM solution because it met his requirement for transparent data management with predictable costs and reliable maintenance and support.
CMC’s future plans include the implementation of offsite storage to better support disaster recovery enabled by the BridgeHead Solution. In addition, CMC’s five-year strategy includes a move to a fully digital environment. Consequently, it was important to have data management software that could bring this static information into a secure, cost-effective archive.
BridgeHead’s Software’s HDM Solution enables hospitals to increase the quality of care by harnessing all clinical and administrative data, ensuring that it is: STORED efficiently, intelligently and at optimum cost; PROTECTED from misuse, corruption and loss; and can be SHARED between users, applications, departments or other hospitals, making vital patient information accessible to the people who need it.
“In the short term, BridgeHead’s HDM Solution provides us with the backup and archiving capabilities we need to secure and protect our vital HIS data, for example. But, as it is a modular solution, it enables us to add components and scale our environment in the most cost-conscious way over the next five years, and beyond, to suit our requirements,” said Brian Evans, IT Director at Community Medical Center. “As an open, flexible, vendor-agnostic platform, BridgeHead’s HDM Solution will grow with our data whether it’s on servers, tape or even a disk-to-disk system.”
“BridgeHead Software is looking forward to working closely with Community Medical Center in support of their five-year strategic plan,” said Mike Ball, BridgeHead Software senior vice president, North America. “BridgeHead’s commercial model enables hospitals to better predict their current and future costs. I know this was useful for CMC as they developed their long term plans, particularly in specifying the data management requirements for their newly planned data center.”
