[Worldwide Comment] Well, we've been talking about it for ages, but have never quite got our 'ducks in a row'. Now it's time to bite the bullet and unleash BridgeHead Software onto the world of 'blogging'.

Why now? In summary, the stars have aligned. Healthcare data and storage management is now, more than ever before, a primary concern for hospitals across the globe. As healthcare data continues to grow at such an alarming rate, hospitals are having to consider how they are going to store, protect and share one of their most vital assets – information. And it's not just clinical data. Administrative data is also essential in the smooth running of hospital operations.

You will be familiar with many topics on healthcare data management such as Vendor Neutral Archiving, disaster recovery, backup, storage, data standards, and the like. This blog will offer some commentary, ideas, recommendations and discussions around these core themes and the healthcare industry at large as it pertains to the storing, protecting and sharing of clinical and administrative data. However, I'd like to assure you, this blog is not intended as an overt self-promotion of BridgeHead Software. Sure, some of our opinions will inevitably talk to our capabilities as a company. And we will link to internal and external web pages and make available some of our assets, where appropriate, if we think it adds value to a conversation. But we feel that if anyone is interested in our solutions, we have the website as a source of initial information and we are always available to talk to if anyone should so desire. But the blog is not the place for unashamed selling. If you feel we are not adhering to this – feel free to add a comment.

This brings me to my last point. We don't want this blog to be simply a broadcasting tool. In my humble opinion, one of the true benefits of a blog is to solicit discussion and share ideas. We welcome feedback, comments and alternative views on the subjects we write about. In doing so, everyone should gain insight and value. So look out for our first official blog post (not counting this one) as it's coming shortly.

Best wishes.
