This article by Computing features Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and talks about the choice the Trust made to overcome its data storage problems. With the end of the National Programme for IT (NPfIT) next year, Homerton NHS not only had to retrieve and migrate its radiology images from the BT data centre, complying with all archiving rules and regulations, but also to deal intelligently with all new data (not just images) generated across multiple hospital departments.
