Each year in the UK, BridgeHead participates in one of the annual Race the Sun events. Now in its 12th year, Race the Sun supports Action Medical Research, a leading children’s research charity. Action Medical Research has a track record in funding medical breakthroughs such as the UK Polio Vaccine which has kept children safe from this deadly virus for many years. Today, too many children are still suffering from disease and disability and Action Medical Research are determined to help. All monies raised will fund projects that aim to offer hope to many thousands of families who are dealing with the trauma of a baby born too soon, striving to support a child affected by disability, or facing the challenge of caring for a child with a rare condition for which there is no cure.

Race the Sun is a fantastic challenge. Teams of four people set off at sunrise, cycle approximately 25 miles to the base of one of the UK’s highest mountains and run/hike approximately 8 miles to and from the summit of that mountain. They then canoe a 2 mile course on a nearby natural lake, only to cycle back 25 miles when they are done. All this must be completed by sunset. Each team must raise a minimum of £2000 for the charity.
BridgeHead is entering two teams this year to Race the Sun in the stunning setting of the Brecon Beacons in South Wales. The training ground of the SAS!
