In their latest special report, Digital Health (former eHealth Insider, EHI) further explores vendor neutral archiving and what it can do outside of radiology. The common perception that VNAs are for medical images only gets demystified. According to their imaging informatics reporter, Kim Thomas, if healthcare standards are put in place, vendor neutral archives can be used as single repositories to store, protect and share other isolated departmental information; both within NHS Trusts and within wider health economies.
