On Day 2 of MUN, Georgina Hurst, Vice President of Sales, UK & Ireland, will be presenting:

“A customer view: “the CDR is our 2nd most important strategic investment after MEDITECH Expanse”.

Around 70% of patient data sits outside the EPR – in specialist clinical systems, departmental applications, legacy platforms, and even paper. When organisations deploy MEDITECH Expanse, they face a dilemma: what data must be migrated into the new EPR, and what should be handled differently? Migrating everything is rarely viable. It’s costly, complex, and risks delaying the project. So, what’s the alternative?

In this session, Georgina shares how customers are using a Clinical Data Repository (CDR) to overcome these challenges. She will explain how the CDR:

• Reduces risk and avoids delays by taking non-critical data out of the EPR migration path
• Provides seamless access to both live and legacy data directly through Expanse
• Enables the safe retirement of legacy applications, lowering cost and improving security
• Establishes a long-term home for the 70% of patient data that lives outside the EPR.

Drawing on real-world examples from NHS and private providers, Georgina highlights why one customer described the CDR as “our second most important strategic investment after MEDITECH Expanse.”
