[Podcast] The Interoperability Conundrum: Is “Analog to Digital” Enough?
The NHS has made significant progress moving from analogue to digital, but many organisations are discovering that “digital” does not automatically mean data is usable, shareable, or truly interoperable. In a recent Digital Health podcast, Adam Coombes (BridgeHead) and Andy Meiner (SI Squared) explore why large volumes of NHS data remain difficult to operationalise — from information locked in departmental systems and legacy EPRs to the ongoing reliance on paper and scanned records — and why achieving real interoperability requires more than digitisation alone. Listen to the podcast.
[Webinar] Strengthening Maternity And Neonatal Safety Through Reliable Access To Historical Data
In our recent Digital Health webinar, “Why History Matters: Strengthening Maternity And Neonatal Safety Through Reliable Access To Historical Data”, Gayle Dellow, Lead Digital Midwife, Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Hadleigh Stollar, Chief Executive, Healthcare Innovation Consortium join BridgeHead’s John McCann to explore why reliable access to person history is essential for safety, governance and assurance across NHS maternity and neonatal services. HealthStore® – Clinical Data Repository
Faster, smarter document ingestion, now live in HealthStore®
With the new versions of HealthStore, we have introduced a FHIR-based ingest model that changes this completely. Documents are now stored in their original format and registered immediately, with any conversion only taking place at the moment a user actually needs to view them. This means faster ingestion, less duplicated data, and a more efficient system overall – all while making HealthStore’s search and analytics capabilities more powerful than ever.
Coming next: using AI to tackle the legacy paper records problem
This would mean that decades of scanned patient records, currently difficult to access or act upon, could be transformed into properly indexed clinical data, leading to both better patient outcomes as well as offering a source of rich data. This is a future initiative and is not yet available, but will represent a major step forward in how we can serve both clinicians and records teams in healthcare organizations worldwide.

MUSE Inspire Conference 2026
BridgeHead Software will be exhibiting at the MUSE Inspire Conference 2026. If you’re attending, stop by Booth #615 to explore how we are helping MEDITECH hospitals to underpin their clinical data management strategy. At the event, we’ll be showing how our HealthStore® Clinical Data Repository aggregates data residing outside of the EHR, such as that found in legacy systems, Enterprise Imaging, and more. Once in HealthStore, that data is then directly available to users of the MEDITECH EHR in patient context – offering a single place to search and retrieve a full patient history. Let’s connect in Chicago. Learn more here.
SIIM 2026
BridgeHead Software will be exhibiting at SIIM 2026 where we look forward to connecting with imaging and informatics leaders in Pittsburgh. If you’re attending, stop by our booth to discover how we are helping healthcare organizations to optimize their Enterprise imaging environments, strengthen interoperability, and provide protection against outages to ensure continuity of clinical service during downtime events.
